Job Description

This position is participating to the responsibilityof the smooth running of each operation participating to the put a product on the market, at the determined moment, location, conditioning, quantity, and service associated.

He/ she will be responsible of a determined number of operations, but must remain flexible.

In order to foster the development of competences, every 1,5 to 3 years, the logistics manager will get proposition to shift to other operations and then to learn and to insure a new kind of responsibilities.

The scope of the operations:

  • Import/ export
  • Transportation
  • Planning & Supply
  • Storage (including cross-docking)
  • Picking
  • Specific operations (co-packing, bar code stickers…)
  • Distribution (regular routing, exceptional delivery…)
  • Fleet management (cars, trucks, equipment…)
  • Customers Service

Working as a Logistics Manager is a very varied and rewarding career with tasks ranging from the development of timely, cost-effective schemes to the handling of the technicalities of operations. The experience develops a specific mindset: pragmatic, problem solving, achiever. 

Basic Functions:

1•        Handle the responsibility of a defined logistics operations (like a mini-BU)

2•        Staff Management: team building,efficiency, effectively, capacity building, evolvement, rewards, respect of SOP, research of improvement, promote values (honesty, team spirit…) …

3•        Develop a Logistics Mindset: think at the same time: global Company interest, and small very practical actions, be structured and organized with permanently the priorities in mind.

4•        Develop Communication: Provide a clear visibility of the costs, functioning, risks & opportunities

 

 

Job Functions: depending on the Operations to manage (specific SOP)

1•        Anticipation:Manage the operation corresponding at the best cost according to the evolution of the situation(pro-active)

2•        Agility: be ready to support any aggressive action (marketing & merchandising actions) at the best cost.

3•        Reliability: be realistic and pragmatic, and guaranty that each data/ information is right, each planning and SOP is respected, and what is decided will be achieved point per point.

4•        Sustainability:each action (decision is action) must be long term oriented. Any repetitive issues must be systematically eliminated (solved) in order to avoid the facing of an accumulation of problems at a highest cost.

 Key Results:

  • Operations must be profitable (lowest global costsin a global vision)
  • Become a Key Manager for the development of CDSG business, having developed 4 skills:

            1•        Anticipation: ease the quotation for the next years budgets (scenarios)

            2•        Agility: ease the dynamic of the merchandising and the marketing (yes we can)

            3•        Reliability: logistics must respect the commitments (Timing & Capability)

            4•        Sustainability:the good functioning mustn’t stand on one person. Any person must be able to be replaced at any moment. There are many challenges in CDSG for talented persons.

  • Due to the capacity of communication needed,languages are essential: Myanmar, English, Chinese
  • Must be able to manipulate figures (ready to work on Excel)
  • Show significant achievements done by the past, and a personality of leader
  • Show accuracy and awareness to details (to guaranty the reliability)
  • Show a positive attitude and be solution oriented (logistics is always confronted to negative contexts and to difficulties)
  • Show the courage to tell when it’s wrong, to communicate and to decide(within limits)
