Job Description

  • To provide a 1 st / 2 nd line support service that ensures all IT equipment andinfrastructure is running to its optimum performance.
  • Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshootinghardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipmentproblems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
  • Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, networkinfrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and relatedhardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables asrequired.
  • Assists in instructing staff in the use of standard business andadministrative software and hardware.
  • To carry out ad-Hoc requests as and when required.
  • Manage and track the IT assets.
  • evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICTfacilities meet these needs
  • planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget, obtainingcompetitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness
  • scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and softwaresystems
  • researching and installing new systems
  • guaranteeing the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virussoftware, print services and email provision

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in IT/MIS/Computer Science or related technicalqualifications
  • Qualifications/Training in IT or SI Project management preferred
  • Qualifications/Training in administering Microsoft relatedtechnologies/platforms preferred
  • ITIL Certification an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in system related positions
  • Prior experience in managing medium/large scale multinational projectspreferred
  • Familiar with other Microsoft tools particularly office and MS project
  • Strong knowledge of PC Hardware and peripheral equipment.
  • Strong knowledge on the installation and setup of printers, scanners andmultifunction devices.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating environments
  • Understanding of Cross Functional/Swim Lane Diagrams
  • Understanding & knowledge of the following:o IT Operationso Cloud technologies particularly Microsoft and AWS
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft network administration and desktopsupport.
  • Strong Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, RDP, and windows networking.
  • Knowledge of TCPIP and associated protocols
  • Knowledge in Windows Active Directory Administration
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure such as LANS, WLANS, Firewalls & WANInfrastructure.
  • Experience in installation and configuration of Antivirus software
  • Knowledge of Smart Device technologies such as Mobile phones andtablets.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
