Purchasing Manager with Beverage Cans Manufacturing Company in Myanmar
Overall responsibility to manage the full spectrum of purchasing activities, i.e. procurement, raw materials planning, machine parts and other materials purchase local and imports, scrap sales, vendors management. This person is accountable for timely deliveries of all purchases as well as balancing working capital.
Source, negotiate and purchase materials from both local and oversea vendors.
Manage the overall process for import license and custom clearance
Develop the most cost and quality effective suppliers and initiate business partnerships.
Evaluate vendor’s quotation to ensure in line with technical and commercial specifications required for the operations.
Ensure effective use of internal Standard Operating Procedures in Procurement, control of workflows, continuous business processes monitoring and elaboration of improvements in systems and processes.
Responsible for daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on purchase orders, delivery and shipment schedule.
Advice internal and external on issues regarding purchasing terms & conditions.
Work with other departments on PSI planning process for cans and ends.
Collaborate with key persons to ensure the clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
Examine and re-evaluate existing contracts.
Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms.
Manage and monitor all transactional procurement including tendering processes, evaluation, contracting, contract management, legal considerations and payment conditions, contractors, performance evaluation and risk assessment
Anticipate unfavorable risk or event through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
Track and report to key persons to reduce procurement cost and improve effectiveness.
Focus on working capital improvements (price reduction and increased credit terms)
Other tasks and duties assigned by superior.
Month end reports on all activities under your responsibilities
Training & HR
Conduct annual appraisals of your team members and identify training needs, present to HOD
a. Education: Degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
b. Experience: Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience in the purchasing service background and good knowledge of Import process including import license applying shipment process and custom clearance process and procedure related to law of Myanmar.
c. Skills & Competence:
Able to use computer to compile reports, presentations and table formatting.
Knowledge of charts, graphs and trends- Good negotiating skills
Good practical technical knowledge.
Good safety awareness.
Good knowledge of import and export procedures.
Good in English speaking and writing.
Team player who is able to motive and inspire his Team to achieve their targets.
Good communication skills.
Able to multi task.
Work location is in Industrial Zone outside Yangon
