Job Description

Major Function

The Sr. Finance Officer will be Responsible for the financial management, planning, and financial overview of EU Funded Switch Asia Project for two project partners – WWF Myanmar and MFPEA (Myanmar Food Processors and Exporters Association). The officer will also ensure approved policies, procedures and Network and EU Standards are adhered to, with the aim to increase operational efficiencies and effectiveness.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead project’s financial planning, including development of forecasts, budgeting, development and drafting of contracts, and monitoring contractual compliance and progress, all in accordance with WWF and EU policies and procedures
  • Manage the operational and financial administration of the project. Identify and communicate major funding gaps and recommends best working solutions
  • Support in assessing and reviewing the financial statements and health of the companies that the project team will work with
  • Ensure all issued agreements and payments are processed in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure the implementation of WWF and EU standards and best practices
  • Enter revenue, expenditure and intercompany transactions in Oracle including any adjustments necessary
  • Responsible for contract management
  • Prepare and review financial reports to management and EU, ensuring that expenditure is according to approved contractual budgets and that donor requirements are met
  • Ensure timely financial donor reports and ensure that they are of good quality
  • Monitor and reconcile funding awards and bank accounts as required
  • Provide liaison between programmes and donors as and when required
  • Assist in audit of project/programmes as required
  • Backing up other members of the Finance unit where necessary
  • Perform other appropriate duties upon request of the Manager, Project Finance

Interact on a regular basis with a) WWF Myanmar Finance team, Program team, Sustainable Business team b) WWF Germany

External

  • Interact regularly with MFPEA and frequently with donor

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

  • University degree in an appropriate subject (business, finance, economics, or accounting).
  • Good Knowledge of IFRS
  • Minimum five years of financial, project management, and/or accounting experience within an international organization with complex donor requirements or multinational company. Experience in EU reporting will be a distinct advantage
  • Developed financial management/accounting skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and adaptive planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Prefer Oracle ERP experience would also be a strong asset.
